Brian is a producer working out of a single room in Kasarani. Good laptop, decent interface, a pair of Bluetooth earphones he has used since campus, and two studio monitors he bought secondhand from a friend who was "upgrading." What "monitoring" actually means and why it decides everything

Mixing is a process of making decisions, decisions about which frequencies to boost or cut, how loud each element sits relative to others, how much space (reverb, delay) an instrument gets in the stereo field.
